I’ve toyed with putting this up as a book club book and have finally given in. Basically, when this book was first published it was the talk of the town – first reason for me to run a mile!! I don’t know about you but generally if there’s a big fuss about something, I’m not first in line to want to find out…. I usually wait for the dust to settle. Also, everyone was ranting about how it could change your life and that they couldn’t explain it, but you had to read it discover what “the secret” actually was – second reason for me to run a mile as I immediately become very suspicious of any claim of a “secret formula”!!
It wasn’t until about 2/3 years later that a very good friend of mine gave it to me for my birthday and so I felt obliged to cast my eyes upon it at least. She spoke highly of it and she’s really got her feet on the ground so I figured that perhaps it might be ok.
What can I say? It’s not a weird “secret” that holds the key to multi millions – because let’s face it, is that really what we want in life?? However, it does hold some very good home truths that if only we could all do on a daily basis, the world would indeed be an unrecogniseable place. There are some other isms about it ie write yourself a cheque and the money will come which I’m not so sure about however, the premise of the rest I did enjoy hugely.
For now, I would say that if you read this book, your life might very well change, well, you might anyway – and that’s the point I reckon. It’s an easy read (far lighter than the last Book Club book!) and an incredibly uplifting one. I won’t divulge any more as after all, it’s the Book Club book – it’s now for you to go and read. Enjoy, I’m pretty sure you will
